"The best lesson pony on Earth!" That is Nick's official title. We rescued him from the slaughterhouse about 10 years ago, and a kid in the barn bought him. When she grew up, she traded him to the farm for a bigger horse. Although he wasn't a perfect angel 10 years ago, he certainly is now. Tiny little kids as young as 3 can trot around on this pony all by themselves. Nick takes excellent care of the kids and can be trusted completely. He is happiest trotting around with a munchkin, although he does enjoy cantering and jumping his crossrails from time to time. Jacquelyn showed him in walk trot in 2006, and then he enjoyed teaching lessons to several of the beginners.

 

Unfortunately, Nick's founder flared up again in late 2007, so he's been retired from the lesson program. He had a rough few months, but seems to be coming back around finally. He's definitely a happy thing. He wanders around the yard with John all day, scratching with anyone who will pay attention to him. He's everyone's buddy :)
